Can toroidal transformers be used as inverter transformers?

Why do inverter systems use inverter transformers?

Some inverter systems are equipped with inverter circuits, while others use inverter power supplies. Whether it is an inverter circuit or an inverter power supply, their function is to convert DC into AC. Power transistors T1, T3 and T2, T4 are turned on alternately to obtain AC. If the DC voltage is low, it is boosted through the inverter transformer to obtain standard AC voltage and frequency.

Can ordinary transformers be used as inverter transformers?

If ordinary transformers have symmetrical output of double windings or symmetrical center taps, and the output voltage of a single winding is equal to the DC input voltage of the inverter, they can be used as inverter transformers, but the output power does not exceed the output power allowed by this winding. Only industrial frequency (50hz-60hz) inverters can be used. High-frequency inverters have too large losses and cannot be used.

The toroidal transformer is flexible in design. By designing the turns ratio of the primary and secondary coils, a boost transformer, i.e., an inverter transformer, can be obtained. The primary and secondary isolation of the ring inverter transformer is used in the solar inverter system to isolate the inverter circuit and the power grid, making the system more stable!
